Dental care like no other
Spa Dentaire Laurier’s general dental services and cosmetic care embodies embody the profession's best practices, in a relaxing atmosphere in which we take great pride. Thanks to our almost pain-free anesthesia techniques, reluctant patients now have no reason to postpone their appointment at our clinic!
The following summary contains more details about the treatments available at Spa Dentaire Laurier.
Cleaning and dental check-up: every 6 months
You may think that you have a good reason for putting off your next appointment, but there are more reasons for regular dental check-ups. In addition to helping you maintain excellent oral health, these visits allow us to detect any problem quickly and to correct it without delay. This saves you time and money as well as pain and anguish. We recommend that you have a professional cleaning and an exam by your dentist every six months.
Decay: beware of your old restorations
Struck by a tooth ache that spoils your quality of life and keeps you from your favourite activities? Are you afraid to smile and show your old fillings? The Spa Dentaire Laurier team understands what you are going through. Dental pain often originates from cavities hidden under old restorations. To prevent that risk, we recommend the removal of old fillings as soon as they’re too porous (after 5 to 10 years).
COMPOSITES AND PORCELAIN
Spa Dentaire use only composite resin or porcelain because their shade matches the colour of your natural teeth. Composite is often a temporary measure whereas porcelain is a much more permanent solution. Having greater solidity, porcelain stands up better during mastication and gives you the feel and comfort of real teeth.
Treatment of dental and muscular pain
Many people experience muscular pain, hot and cold sensitivity, and may even involuntarily grind their teeth. All these problems can be fixed so there’s no reason why you should endure them any longer. Spa Dentaire Laurier can point out to you the type of treatment that would be the best for you.
Root canal treatment: high success rate
This intervention is used as a last resort before extracting a decayed tooth or a tooth that has suffered a severe trauma (for example, a broken tooth). It is a means to avoid dental abscess, to preserve a tooth’s root and make a restoration on top of it. Root canal treatment has always had a high success rate.
Dental surgery: implants, cysts and injuries
In some cases, surgical intervention is unavoidable. Depending on the nature of the problem, surgery may be minor or a more extensive procedure may be necessary. For example, it can be the removal of wisdom teeth, the installation of implants, or the treatment of certain oral diseases or cysts. We also have to intervene in cases of injury or accidental fractures. Consultation is always the best solution!
Gum treatment: eradicate the main factor of tooth loss
Gum disease, or periodontitis, is the main cause of tooth loss among adults. It stems from the deterioration of the bones that support the teeth. The consequences vary: gum discoloration and swelling, tooth mobility and loss. If discovered in time, these diseases can be generally treated or even, eradicated.
Smoking significantly slows down the healing process of the gums. Good oral hygiene at home, including brushing and flossing, in addition to tartar removal and cleanings at your dentist every three to four months helps gums to get better.
Crowns, bridges, prosthesis and implants
When a tooth is damaged or missing, it is important to restore or replace it as soon as possible. Not only for aesthetic reasons but also because this helps the teeth to keep firmly in place and to play their role, notably in the mastication and digestion processes. Your dentist can recreate one tooth or more, or even a whole section of your teeth.
DURABILITY AND COMFORT
Crowns, bridges and implants can last many years and allow comfortable mastication. Even though dentures are what we call a “compromise solution," they can be aesthetically pleasing and quite comfortable and durable. Partial or complete dentures give you a dentition similar to your natural dentition.
